A place to retreat for a little refreshment and encouragement

The Purpose - UNDER CONSTRUCTION

The page is intended to foster prayer for one another.

As humans we are tempted to turn to other things such as our on energy, working harder and/or longer, or looking for other resoruces as a means to resolve the issue we're facing.  Remembering that prayer is the number one tool that can always be utlized any time of day, any day day of the week, month or year is the wisest way to start working on the issues we face day to day.

Some other encouragments -

We are commanded not to be anxious but, instead, to notice where God is and then talk to Him about it (AKA pray) -

"The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:5B-7

Don't be suprised when He answers prayers -

"When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose other name was Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying. And when he knocked at the door of the gateway, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer. Recognizing Peter's voice, in her joy she did not open the gate but ran in and reported that Peter was standing at the gate. They said to her, “You are out of your mind.” But she kept insisting that it was so, and they kept saying, “It is his angel!” But Peter continued knocking, and when they opened, they saw him and were amazed.  But motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison."  Acts 12:12-17

*It's not about us.  It's about Him!

How it works - UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Do you remember the days of pagers?  The arcaic way to send a text or tweet today!  Well, taking it back to the old days a bit, praying for someone is simple.

1.  Read the prayer request.

2.  Take a moment to put yourself in that person's shoes.

3.  Pray for them.

4.  Send them a message.  It doesn't have to be legnthy or the perfect message of hope or encouargmet.  Simply say something like this,

"Just prayed for you."

"Praying for you"

"Praying about  (blank) for you"

5.  Trust and wait for God to work

As Emily P. Freeman says in her first book "Grace for the Good Girl", " You're free to wait expectantly on Jesus the one who is both author and perfector of your faith."

More coming soon...

How can I start?

Start by giving thanks for what God has done.  This can be a great way to remind ourselves of the truth that He is faithful to provide.  It also helps us open our eyes and hearts to the ways He has provided that we may not have seen without prayer.

Next praise God for who He is - provider, father, friend...

MORE TO COME ABOUT THE NAMES OF GOD (see Creator study book)

After that, ask God to increase your faith to trust that He will work in the situation...
